GIFTS OF ART/COLLECTIBLES

Donating appreciated art/collectibles, such as paintings, sculptures, drawings, books, personal items owned by Ayn Rand or other Objectivists, etc., can make a great gift to ARI.

BENEFITS OF GIFTS OF ART/COLLECTIBLES

  • Avoid paying capital gains tax on the sale of the art/collectibles
  • You may receive a charitable income tax deduction based on the value of the gift if you have owned it for at least one year, you fit the IRS criteria of a collector, it fits the mission of ARI and it has a qualified appraisal
  • Leave a lasting legacy to Ayn Rand Institute

HOW TO MAKE A GIFT OF ART/COLLECTIBLES

Your art/collectibles may be given to ARI by speaking with a member of ARI staff to secure a qualified appraisal and arrange for safe, insured transfer of ownership. You may deed part or all your collection to ARI. Your gift may be based on the item's fair market value, which is established by an independent qualified appraisal.
